East Texans are praying for rain!  Summer officially starts today, but East Texas has already been experiencing record breaking temperature for weeks!.  Now, it's East Texas wildfires that are setting records.

On record as the largest fire in East Texas history, the "Bearing Fire" has burned approximately 18,200 acres along the eastern edge of Trinity County, and western boundary of Polk County. The fire is being managed by the National Incident Management Organization for the Texas Forest Service and Trinity County.

In Upshur County, a fire has scorched 66 acres since Saturday. It started around 3pm Saturday just north of Longview. Dry and windy weather sparked several flare ups over 2 days. Some firefighters had spent 15 hours back and forth as the fire continued to rekindle.

88% of the state of Texas is under some kind of fire ban.  Smith County will decide today whether to join that ban.  Yesterday in Smith County alone,  four different grass fires were reported.

Hey I think I smell rain! Pray East Texas, pray!
