In 2023 You Can Catch Big Waves In Austin At A New Surf Park
In 2023 developers plan to break ground on a $1.3 billion dollar project in Austin, Texas that will become the largest surf park on planet Earth. Because it's being built in Texas you know it has to be bigger and the best!
If you like to surf, right now you have to travel at least 250 miles to Galveston to catch some waves in the Gulf Of Mexico. Then if you want the more serious waves and clearer water to surf in, you have to travel more than 1500 miles to reach the Pacific Ocean and the waves of San Diego and California. Casual to pro surfers are going to enjoy this new facility that will soon be built south of Austin's Bergstrom International Airport.
The project features a man-made wave-producing machine from Surf Lakes that will be a part of a master-planned Pure Vida community that will feature a 12-acre surf lake as its marquee attraction. The Pure Vida development will also feature restaurants, hotels, retail locations, and residential buildings in the 400-acre development.
Taking a look at some of the smaller Surf Lakes facilities that are already in operation, this place is going to be a magnet for surfers of all skill levels. Plans are underway already to start breaking ground in early 2023 or by mid-2023. Once complete it will become the largest integrated wave pool development in the world.

The facilities that are in operation now produce more than 2000 rides per hour and accommodate more than 200 surfers in the water at any time. I can only imagine if this is going to be the largest of its kind in the world just how many waves it'll produce each hour and how many surfers can be riding those waves at the same time.
After watching this promotional video, I am suddenly interested in learning how to surf!
