Victoria’s carnival food is pretty standard for the most part, but not all carnival food is created equally; some vendors push the limits of what hot oil can do.
I love when the carnival comes to Victoria, it’s the one time a year I eat caramel apples and of course, funnel cakes. While the kids run around getting on every ride, I’m balling the food vendors. The usual suspects like funnel cakes and corn dogs are scattered everywhere but look a little closer, and you’ll notice some pretty odd options.

Fried Oreos and fried cheesecake are on the menu this weekend in the Crossroads, but travel a little farther out, and you will experience some of the craziest foods battered up and dropped into hot oil.

It seems like absolutely nothing is off-limits anymore.

Deep-fried pickles weren’t enough on their own, apparently. Someone had to add a hot dog to the situation. Dilly Dogs, which are hot dogs stuffed inside pickles, battered, and fried, are a big hit at carnivals in the Midwest.
