Minneapolis Brewery Avoids the Pit of Misery, Dilly Dilly
I am of the crowd that thinks the Dilly Dilly Bud Light commercials are very entertaining.
Some do not.
Modist Brewing Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota seems to be a fan and decided to create an IPA called Dilly Dilly.
Anheuser-Busch got word of this. And as a big company will do when their product is copied, a cease and desist order was issued.
This cease and desist was not as harsh as you might think and delivered in a way fitting of the current Dilly Dilly campaign.
A town crier was sent to deliver the message.
I'm gonna have to say, that's the best way possible for the company to handle this. Make it limited edition and after that, stop selling it. Plus, two people from the brewery get to go to the Superbowl on Anheuser-Busch.
You know what, I wouldn't be mad at that.
Anheuser-Busch has always had a creative advertising team. Remember the Budweiser frogs and "Wasssup!"
