So yeah, it's a bit different over the airwaves of KNUE. We offer no apologies, either. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis is an amazing place. I personally have been to the hospital seven times. Each time, I've come away with new inspiration.

That inspiration comes from the kids that are in a battle for their lives. I don't have children of my own so, obviously, I can't make a comparison to what those parents are going through. I do have a teenage nephew and a five year old niece. If either were diagnosed with cancer, I would do whatever I could to help my sister.

The shirt I'm wearing in the picture above is what you receive when you become a Partner in Hope. What does that mean? You offer $20 a month to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee that provides treatments and research to defeat cancer in children. The families that are brought to St. Jude pay nothing.

It's hard to fathom that thought. Chemo treatments, surgeries, follow up appointments. That adds up. But because you opened your heart, you make it all possible. That was the dream of Danny Thomas and is still carried out over 50 years later.

It's called a hospital but it's not that at all. It's a place of healing, it's a place of discovery, it's a place of hope. Yes, not every story ends in happiness. That's why we're on the air asking you to help. Because of what you do, you get them closer to 100% and, eventually, the closing of the doors of St. Jude because all cancer has been cured.

That's the ultimate goal. With you becoming a Partner in Hope, you become a part of that winning fight.
