It's a great day to be from East Texas. The nominees of the 48th Academy of Country Music Awards were announced this morning, and two of our favorite East Texans were nominated for a total of nine awards, including one of the biggest of the night.

Lindale native Miranda Lambert will be going head-to-head with Golden native Kacey Musgraves for the title of Female Vocalist of the Year at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. While Miranda has been nominated and won the award in the past, this is Kacey's first nomination. In fact, this is her first time being nominated for an ACM ever.

Miranda Lambert is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Single Record of the Year and twice nominated for Song of the Year. Musgraves is nominated for New Female Vocalist, and twice for Video of the Year for “Merry Go 'Round” as both artist and producer.

Not only that, but Texas group Eli Young Band is nominated for three nominations. They have been nominated for Vocal Group of the Year and have nominations for “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” in the Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories.

The ACM Awards air at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 7 on CBS.
