Adrian Pearce And The 48 Year Old Christmas Gift

Wow, talk about holding a grudge.

A man from Canada will finally find out what an ex-girlfriend gave him for Christmas nearly 50 years after the fact.

According to Newser, Adrian Pearce caught the world's attention after revealing that back in 1970, when he was 17, his girlfriend gave him a Christmas present just before dumping him, and that he's kept it, unopened, ever since.

She gave me a present at the same time and I took the present home. I had a long walk home and I was all upset and angry, and all the things you feel when somebody breaks up with you.

Now he's told the CBC it's time to open the gift. Pearce says the story went so viral that his ex got in touch, telling him she doesn't remember what's inside the package.

He's invited her to an event on December 6th to unwrap the gift herself; if she doesn't show, his wife will unwrap it.
