WOW!  That was quick.

After 10 months of being in East Texas it was announced Thursday (February 6th) that Frontier Airlines will be leaving Tyler Regional Pounds Airport.

According to KLTV, the announcement was made through airline management that they will be suspending services to Tyler, Texas in April 2020.

The airline released a statement stating services are being suspended due to lack of demand,

We have made the difficult decision to suspend operations at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport (TYR) in April 2020 based on a lack of sufficient demand to support the service. We greatly appreciate the partnership and support we have received from the airport and community and will continue to evaluate the potential for future opportunities.

While the news is disappointing customers who frequently fly out of Tyler are optimistic that they will return and that Tyler would have more choices in regards to airline travel.

In the meantime the airline will continue to add more carriers to Tyler Regional Pounds.
