Police in Longview are urging residents to be on the lookout for a scam that has made its way to East Texas; more specifically residents that have service through AT&T.

According to the police department's Facebook page, the scammer calls and states that they have reached you on behalf of AT&T. They continue to say that there have been reports of faulty equipment, and that you must provide credit card information in order to get the equipment replaced.

This has been confirmed by the department as a scam, and they urge you to never give out your personal information to someone calling you.

This is definitely information you'll want to pass along to those closest to you to ensure they don't fall for the scam!
