
CBP Seizes $3.7 Million in Drugs at Texas Border
(KNUE-FM) No matter how many times criminals are caught attempting to bring huge loads of drugs into the United States through Texas, they never seem to stop trying.
We are hearing from U.S. Customs and Border Protection that recently they have been very busy seizing a total of $3.7 million in hard narcotics at the Port of Entry in Laredo, Texas.
Inside the $3.7 Million Drug Seizures
The first seizure was September 19th when a CBP officer found a 39-year-old male Mexican citizen driving a 2011 Freightliner tractor with 32 packages of fentanyl, a total of 74.78 pounds. The street value is near $1,746,880.
The next bust was later in the same afternoon as a 46-year-old Mexican citizen was again driving a 2011 Freightliner tractor found to have 20 packages of fentanyl totaling 45.37 pounds. Also found was one package of cocaine containing 1.06 pounds. The total street value is estimated at $1,074,096.

Fentanyl, Heroin, Cocaine, and Meth at Texas Border
Shockingly, there was a third seizure on the same day this time a 48-year-old Mexican citizen driving a 2005 Kenworth tractor was found with 16 packages of cocaine totaling 37.12 pounds. There was also a small package of fentanyl with 0.10 pounds discovered within the tractor. The street value of that seizure was around $498,236.
The final drug seizure was on September 21st at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge when a 31-year-old United States citizen was found with eight packages of heroin a total of 14.55 pounds. Additionally he was found to have 24 packages of methamphetamine which was 14.55 pounds. The narcotics were valued at $405,165.
The total for all four seizures ended up being $3,724,377.

The Ongoing Battle Against Border Drug Smuggling
It’s the sad reality that is taking place every day, there are criminals that are manufacturing and distributing drugs and using Texas as a way to keep their operation going.
We cannot say thank you enough to all the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents that are working tirelessly to keep these drugs out of the Lone Star State.
