This Texas Restaurant Introduced the World to Chicken Fried Bacon

Yeah, you read that right. CHICKEN. FRIED. BACON. I'll bet you didn't even know that you could fry bacon "chicken fried" style! But that's exactly what Sodolak's Original Country Inn is most famous for!

Sodolak's Country Inn, located at 234 CR 265 in Somerville, offers a variety of comfort food dishes, but their chicken fried bacon is the real star of this restaurant.

Frying the chicken fried bacon is made exactly the way it sounds- and the same way you would make a regular chicken fried steak; coat long strips of bacon in breading and fry until they're golden perfection. Sodolak's is proud to have been the one to introduce this delicacy to probably not just the Lone Star state, but possibly the entire world. And, according to this, we all have Frank Sodolak to thank for this mouthwatering treat!

Now, we've had several "bacon fests" here in El Paso, but I do not recall any vendors making chicken fried bacon; I didn't even know that something like this could exist! But I guess there's so much you could do with bacon that I never knew.

I can hear my arteries clogging up as I write about this must-try appetizer; I'm sure that enjoying a chicken fried bacon strip every once in awhile is acceptable! Just look at it!

It looks like it's served with gravy- which is just the way you would want to enjoy your chicken fried...anything!
