Wait, there's a science to making beer? Absolutely. Perhaps there's a bit of art in there, too. Either way, you can learn all about it on Saturday, January 11 at the Discovery Science Place in downtown Tyler at 308 North Broadway from 6 until 9 p.m.

Teaming up with TrueVine Brewing to bring your this event, this is an unusual and fun way to spend an evening learn about craft beers, enjoying a "TED-talk style presentation" from the folks from TrueVine and UT Tyler professor of biochemistry Jordan Beaver "about both the art and science of brewing beer." Of course, you'll get to enjoy some craft brews, as well. Attendees should be 21 and older.

In addition, enjoy small plates from local downtown eateries and enjoy beer garden-type games around the museum--including corn-hole, beanbag tic-tac-toe, and giant Jenga and checkers. There will also be raffle prizes with proceeds going to benefit the museum, their outreach efforts to public schools, as well as their camp scholarship programs.
