10-Year-Old Texas Girl Has 'Ducks and Joe Diffie' Themed Birthday

Earlier this week there was a listener who messaged us through our station app to tell us about a birthday party for a 10-year-old they attended over this past weekend. It’s not uncommon for people to send us photos or share about life events, which we love to read about. But this particular story stuck out because it was about a young girl who loves ducks and the late Joe Diffie and for her birthday party, she wanted to combine those two loves as the theme of her party.

Because I am so out of touch with what 10-year-old kids would want as a theme for a birthday party I asked Google and the top answers were a carnival theme, gaming theme or even a water park party. Which is why I love that Addy from Mount Pleasant, Texas decided to stick to her favorites when creating the theme for her party. Instead of doing what everyone else was doing she decided to be creative and her parents encouraged it!

The Cake Was ‘Ducks and Duffie’ Themed

As you can see from the photos of the cake Addy’s mom worked hard to give her daughter the perfect combination of ducks and Joe Diffie. The water tower on the cake design shows acknowledgement to Joe Diffie’s hit song “John Deere Green”.

Because Addy is such a big Joe Diffie fan she wanted her party to do a sing-a-long to her favorite song “John Deere Green” before the traditional Happy Birthday song.
