East Texas 4th Of July Celebrations 2017
East Texans will be celebrating the birth of our nation July 4th with cookouts, pool parties, friends, family and fireworks! There will be plenty of events around East Texas to keep families entertained for hours, from live music to fireworks, it's all here in beautiful East Texas!
The following is a list of 4th of July events that are happening around East Texas. This list will be updated as we learn about new celebrations as the 4th of July gets closer! Get ready to bring on the food, music, sunscreen and fireworks! Remember to treat fireworks with respect, they can do great danger not only to you but to property too!
Longview
4th of July Fireworks + Freedom Celebration
Tuesday, July 4th - 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex
Admission is free for parking, concert and fireworks show. Individual activities, rides, food and drinks will require a separate charge. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and will feature a car and truck show, motorcycle parade, dance party, weenie dog races, patriotic pup fashion show, kids fashion show, carnival rides, bounce houses, safety city go karts for kids, vendors and other activities. Live music from the entertainment stage followed by the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Rusk
4th of July Parade & Celebration
Tuesday, July 4th - 9 a.m.
Downtown Rusk
The parade in downtown Rusk will begin at 9 a.m., there will be a fireman's competition at 10 a.m. along with arts and crafts booths and more presented by the Rotary Club of Rusk.
Canton
4th of July Parade & Fireworks
Tuesday, July 4th - 6:30 p.m.
Downtown Canton
There will be events happening around the courthouse in downtown Canton that includes a watermelon eating contest, the parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. from Buffalo St. followed by a fireworks show from the First Monday Trade Day grounds at dusk.
Gladewater
4th of July Fireworks
Saturday, July 1st - 7:30 p.m.
Lake Gladewater
The annual boat parade on Lake Gladewater will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the fireworks show beginning around 9 p.m.
Mt. Pleasant
Happy Birthday USA
Sunday, July 2nd - 7 p.m.
Trinity Baptist Church - Mt. Pleasant
The whole family is invited out to enjoy free activities, water slides and bounce houses at Trinity Baptist Church on Hwy. 271. Concessions will be available for an additional charge along with live music and the fireworks show around 8:30 p.m.
Mt. Vernon
Saturday, July 1st - 9:30 p.m.
Lake Cypress Springs
Fireworks will be going off over Lake Cypress Springs and will be a benefit of the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
Sulphur Springs
Symphony League and Fireworks
Saturday, July 1st - 4 p.m.
100 Church St. and downtown square
The Northeast Texas Symphony will be performing favorites on the square in downtown Sulphur Springs, bring along a chair for a night filled with music followed by the fireworks show!
Athens
Fireworks At The Fishery
Tuesday, July 4th - 5 p.m.
Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center
Fireworks at the Fishery is one of the largest fireworks displays in East Texas! Fireworks will light up the skies over the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center and Lake Athens!
Flint
Freedom Fest
Tuesday, July 4th 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Bella Vista

Celebrating the armed forces, family and our freedoms. There will be water activities, bounce houses, a show from illusionist Johnny Magic, face painting, balloon art, water sports along with a boat and car show, live music, food and the highlight of the event - the fireworks set to music off of a barge on Lake Palestine! Admission is $10 per adult, $5 for children and free to both active and retired veterans and their families. A portion of the entry fee goes toward the Wounded Warrior Project. This is a BYOB event.
