Huge Surprise for Kilgore College Graduate

Simone Davis walked across the stage at Kilgore College Friday night, a graduate with a degree in radiologic technology.

"I'm just really excited to get everything finished up and just move on with the future," Davis told CBS 19.

She had many family members in town to watch her special day. Her husband, however, is serving overseas in the Army and couldn't be there.

Or was he?

As simone walked across the stage, her husband, Derrick Davis, came from behind the curtain and gave her a big hug.

"I had absolutely no clue. I just felt like I was dreaming. I just didn't think that it was reality that he was just standing right there in front of me," Simone said after the surprise.

"She looks gorgeous. Very beautiful. She was the finest one out there. It went better than what I thought it was going to be," Derrick said.

Derrick only got a short leave to attend.
