Devastating 9 Deaths Triggers New Deli Meat Recall In Texas
A Listeria break out connected to a variety of Boar's Head deli meats and the plant they were processed at has triggered a massive recall in Texas and across the United States after as many as 9 or more people have already died, and over 50 required hospital treatment. Some of the meats under the names Boar's Head and Old Country with a sell by date as late as October 17th that were processed between May 10 and July 29th are being recalled according to the United States Department of Agriculture.

The recall of over 7 million pounds of deli meat might just be the tip of the iceberg of potential issues for Boar's Head and their processing plant in Virginia that is already dealing with almost 70 violations according to recent USDA Safety and Inspection records as cited in this Fox Business article.
Lawsuits are already coming in against Boar's Head as a woman in Minnesota claims she almost lost her unborn baby due to eating the contaminated meat in what is being called the worst Listeria outbreak since 2011.
