Southern California's Coachella festival is, arguably, the big daddy of all the music festivals in terms of spotlighting what's hip and happening. Not too many country artists play this particular fest (they get their own independent turn with the Stagecoach festival, immediately following Coachella's two April weekends), but red-hot recent Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves made the cut.

As it turns out, perhaps this audience wasn't quite ready for a proper country set. Musgraves got the crowd whipped up on Friday afternoon (Apr. 12) of Weekend 1, with some of her tunes from the multi-award-winning Golden Hour. However, things got a little crazy when she attempted to play around with a country callout.

"When I say 'yee,' you say 'haw,'" she instructed the audience. The fans managed to do this twice, then somehow flubbed and skipped ahead a "haw."

Musgraves got salty immediately: "I didn't say f---kin' 'yee,'" she informed them.

We're betting Musgraves was teasing more than angry, as she posted a video of the moment to her social media with the simple caption "I didn't say--." She also shared a variety of photos from her set, showing off her fringed red mini-dress, disco-ball'd set, and the sunny Indio weather.

Musgraves unfortunately will not be sticking around for an appearance at Stagecoach (which takes place Apr. 26-28, also at Indio's Empire Polo Club). That particular festival is leaning heavily on the male artist side of things, with headliners Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Sam Hunt taking the spotlight over the weekend.
