Every community in the Piney Woods has its own personality, from the big-city energy of Tyler to the small-town charm of places where everybody seems to know everybody. As a radio guy who loves East Texas, I couldn't help wondering which radio format best fits each town.

Every East Texas Town Has Its Own Personality

There are no two East Texas towns that are exactly the same. While many of them might have some of the same things, each has their own different vibes. Which is one of the many reasons it's so fun to visit each East Texas town. It's almost like different radio formats; they might all broadcast to the public and mention some of the same things, but they are all drastically different. So, let's have some fun matching East Texas towns to radio formats.

Think of It Like Dollar Stores Around East Texas

I realize this is showing I am a little bit of a nerd for radio, and I also love East Texas towns, but that is how I came up with this ridiculous idea. But for example, we know just about every East Texas town that has a dollar store of some sort, in some case multiples right next to each other. But they are all just a little bit different, whether it's the staff members, the cleanliness of the store, or the customers who stop in to buy things.

And as discussed radio stations might be talking about similar topics regarding things going on around town, but they will be presented differently on each radio station. We all get similar information, but it's just a little bit different.
