Country music superstars Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert have more in common than you may think. They both grew up in East Texas, both placed in the Top 10 on Nashville Star, and both have made a huge splash in country music and their stardom continues to rise. Before their huge success, the two knew how much they had in common and struck up a friendship. They're alike in so many ways, that they even share songs. Including Miranda's current smash 'Mama's Broken Heart'.

Kacey was the original writer of 'Mama's Broken Heart'. Miranda tole The Boot that the song wasn't originally pitched to her, but she begged for it. "Her sister actually shot some pictures at mine and Blake's wedding, and she was there, too. At our rehearsal dinner, I went over and asked her, 'Are you gonna cut this song or can I have it?' And she was like, 'I'll think about it for a couple of days," she said.

Kacey was hesitant on giving the song to her, because it was a song that she held very close to her. She gave the song to Miranda with one condition: she had to sing the harmonies. So if you listen closely, you can hear Kacey in the background of the track. Miranda's version of the song is noticeably different than Kacey's, but it's a smash hit either way.

Which version do you like better? Do you think that Kacey should've kept the song and released it as her own? Or do you think she did right by letting Miranda have it? Listen to both versions and let us know!
