
Longview High School Band Invited to Perform in London
We know there are some extremely talented young adults here in East Texas and it’s wonderful to find out that some of those talents will be on display across the ocean as the Longview High School Band is now set to perform at the 2028 London New Year’s Parade.
The $1.5 Million Fundraising Goal
As you would expect it is going to take a lot of money and resources to pull this off, but the $1.5 million fundraising efforts have already started
It’s an opportunity that these kids will never forget. The Big Green Marching Machine along with the Viewettes and Majorettes will have the chance to showcase their talents in an event that is an invitation-only event. The 2028 London New Year’s Day Parade will bring the top bands, dancers, and performers from across the world to put on one amazing event.

Which Students Will Be Eligible to Travel?
The students had no idea about the announcement when it was made recently, but this means students, including those in seventh through tenth grade, will be eligible to make the trip.

What Is the London New Year’s Day Parade?
In total, there are expected to be over 8,000 performers in the London New Year’s Parade. The event takes place in the heart of Westminster.
The $1.5 million fundraising goal will support travel, meals, and essential expenses for students. The fundraiser aims to reduce each student’s cost from more than $4,500 to approximately $1,000.
In addition to the performance students will attend historic landmarks and cultural sites in London. If you are interested in making a donation, you can do that here.
