Longview Fire Department’s 2nd Annual Toy Drive is December 8-9

'Tis the season for giving! And that's exactly what the Longview Fire Department is doing with its second annual toy drive. The drive benefits less fortunate children who find themselves in the foster care system and local school systems. Last year this event was a huge success and it's because of unselfish East Texans like you guys! KNUE was thrilled to promote this event last year and of course we are excited to let you guys know about it this year, too.

The Toy Drive will be in the parking lot of the Longview Mall on Friday and Saturday, Dec., 8-9. The Longview Fire Department will also pick up any donations. Just call 903-237-1210 and they'll come pick them up.

KNUE is happy to announce last year the Longview Fire Department collected nearly 2,500 toys. That's 2,500 toys to 2,500 foster kids all over East Texas as well as those who have been relocated out of the area.

I couldn't think of a more perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas by giving kids toys. Involve your civic group, friends, neighbors and young people in your life, because giving is the spirit of Christmas.
