If you're looking for a very entertaining way to waste some time, head over to tiermaker.com. This is a site dedicated to ranking any and everything. It can be sports related, video games, rom coms, toys, pretty much anything that you want to give a rank to. The rankings let you decide from what is a masterpiece, or an S, in that particular category to what is the worst, an F.

I took some time to rank the best superhero movies of the last 30 years or so. You can take this same list I used and make your own ranking to see if you agree with me. Just go to tiermaker.com/create/superhero-movies. That's the great thing about this site, it's all your opinion. I won't go over this entire list individually but I will go over some of my  choices and why I ranked them there.

F - Batman and Robin

Batman, Batman Returns and Batman Forever were all great Batman movies of the late 80's to mid 90's. However, when it came to '97's Batman and Robin, things went downhill fast. George Clooney had no business playing Batman. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman were good picks to play Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy respectively but they were just given bad dialogue, bad character stories and were asked to turn the camp way to high. It's a black eye for an otherwise great group of Batman movies.

S (Masterpiece) - Captain America: Winter Solider

Captain America: The Winter Solider, to me, is the best of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and just a great movie in general. The story is on point, the acting is perfect, and every moment of this movie keeps you engaged. I love it and think the ranking of "Masterpiece" is the one and only rank for this movie.

A - Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army

I am rewatching both of these movies right now just because I haven't sat down and watched either in a while. Hellboy is a fantastic comic book and these movies bring the comic to life in an almost perfect manner. There is the remake that came out in 2019 that I haven't seen but have been told it's terrible. Terrible may be the wrong word, it's just that it's not Ron Perlman playing Hellboy and that doesn't make a Hellboy movie.

B - Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

This is an unpopular opinion, I think the mid 00's Fantastic Four movies are good. Fantastic Four has always been my favorite comic book series and Dr. Doom my favorite Marvel villain. I like how the first family and Doom were played in the movies. Sure, The Thing wasn't the best looking, but visual effects then would have made him look even worse. I mean, look at the Fantastic Four movie from 2015, The Thing looked worse than this version. I gave these movies a B because they are good and I will argue for that ranking any day.

C - Superman Returns

While Brandon Routh made a great Superman, Superman Returns tries too much to be a Christopher Reeve Superman movie. And because of that, I didn't think this worked at all. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther was meh at best. The only reason it got a C rank is because of Brandon Routh's portrayal of Superman which I think carried this movie.
