Most people never get to see a 300-million-year-old fossil, let alone dig one up themselves. But one Texas park encourages just that, which is why it's FREE.

And people actually do find them too!

According to KSAT12, Mineral Wells Fossil Park, open daily from morning til night, lets you dig and keep whatever you find on site. A few things found on the site listed by Mineral Wells Fossil Park  include a ton of names I can't even begin to pronounce, like Punctospirifer Brachipods.

One of the more common fossils found are prehistoric shark teeth, mostly intact water bugs, and other ancient sea species. ABC says if you plan to go fossil hunting, which I don't see why you wouldn't since it's free, bring bags for your fossils and maybe some knee pads.
