New Ford Program Lets You Return Car if You Lose Job During Pandemic
The pandemic has affected so many people in so many different ways. With job loss being pretty high up there on the list. Well, Ford will be doing their part to help those living in uncertain times by allowing customers who lose their job within a year of buying a new vehicle to return it at no cost.
It seems almost too good to be true, but I'm here to you...it's true.
According to CNN, under the terms of a new financing program called the Ford Promise plan, if a buyer loses their job within a year of buying a new Ford vehicle, they can return it. Ford Credit will pay for the difference between what the car is worth at that time and what the customer still owes, up to $15,000.
Are there restrictions? Of course, there are but they all seem pretty reasonable. For example, the job loss can't be within 30 days of signing your vehicle contract. Obviously, if you quit your job, that's on you. Also, self-employed customers can take advantage of the program if they're forced to declare personal bankruptcy.
You can't take advantage of the program on a vehicle that you purchased or leased prior to June 26, 2020.

It's a pretty good incentive to get people in Ford dealerships to buy and feel less uneasy about it. With so much uncertainty in the world, I think this is a great program.
