Registration is officially open for the 15th Anniversary Susan G. Komen Tyler Race for the Cure. The race is set for Saturday, May 11 at Bergfeld Park in Tyler. The race is chaired by Brenda McBride and Cindy Nick.

This year's race chairs had this to say:

As we celebrate the 15th anniversary, we honor the legacies of the women who came before us, the women who dreamed of encouraging, inspiring and empowering breast cancer survivors in East Texas. We are so grateful for the many partners in our community, advocates who have joined us as ambassadors in this Race to find a cure. We invite our community to come support this great cause on our anniversary year.

The Race attracts men, women and children of all ages and fitness levels. Most participants choose to walk or jog, but the race is certified by the USA Track and Field, so that is available for more elite runners.

The first 4,800 people to register are guaranteed a T-shirt. Individuals and teams can register on-line at komentyler.org. There is also a VIP package that includes some extras including reserved parking.

There are also several different activities surrounding the actual race itself - including Dine in for The Cure at El Charro on 5th Street in Tyler on Monday, May 6th. Celebrity wait staff will serve diners between 5pm and 9pm.
