There is a ton of stuff going on in East Texas this weekend. Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t seem to care.

KLTV 7 meteorologist Grant Dade says there will be widespread rain until Saturday afternoon. After that, the rainfall will become scattered until Sunday.

So, what does this mean for the Komen Tyler ‘Race for the Cure’ and Alleyfest in Longview? We’ve talked to officials from both events and they say the events are going on rain or shine.

Komen Tyler officials released this statement:

The Susan G. Komen Tyler Race on May 12, 2012 will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Tyler Race for the Cure.

We have registered over 4,100 people to date and will continue having Race week registration at Brookshire’s on Rice Road today and tomorrow from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Race day registration begins at 6:30 am at Bergfeld Park.

Officials for Alleyfest in Longview say there are no plans to cancel anything due to the weather. The activities go on!
