(Lindale, Texas) - I feel that reality television has been the downfall of America. On my goodness, all the fake drama that is displayed just makes my eye roll. I get that it's entertaining, and I have laughed at some clips, but reality TV is nothing more than a cheaply made TV show.

My wife has an obsession with watching these shows. She loves Cheaters and 90 Day Fiancé and 1,000 Pound Sisters. I watch them with her because she endures my Marvel movie fandom and video game playing. I will even ask questions about the characters while we're watching.

Reality TV is Such a Scam

Reality TV is cheap entertainment for the networks to put out just to save some money. It is all so scripted that it's not even "real life" by any stretch of the imagination. Having said all that, I understand the entertainment of the shows. It did get me to thinking, about how some of these reality shows could match up pretty well with many of our East Texas towns.

Tyler would obviously match up with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Longview's blue collar life goes really good with Forged in Fire. My hometown of Lindale matches up with Nashville Star because of the singing talent that has come out of Eagle territory.
