
Smith County Man Held on $1.1M Bond After Drug Arrest
(Tyler, Texas) An East Texas man is in the custody of the Smith County Sheriff's office behind bars with bonds totaling $1,153,500.

In an unassuming south Tyler neighborhood, law enforcement descended upon a house with a search warrant after learning about a package that was scheduled to arrive at a home on Sutherland Drive.
How Investigators Tracked the Package
According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, a package containing 40 pounds of marijuana had been intercepted and seized by the Lindale Police Department. After investigating the package's trail and intended destination, investigators obtained a search warrant for the location where the package was to be delivered.
On Wednesday, July 2nd, law enforcement executed a search warrant at 409 Sutherland Dr. and found a significant quantity of illegal substances that were allegedly being prepared for packaging and distribution.

What Authorities Found in the South Tyler Home
After the search of the home, law enforcement found the following:
- 2 kilos of cocaine
- 5 pounds of marijuana
- dangerous prescription drugs
- 2 loaded handguns
- 1 loaded rifle
- $1500 in US cash
- currency counter
- scales
- packaging material
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Smith County law enforcement and Texas DPS officers arrested 34-year-old Brandon Walton and charged him with 'Possession of a controlled substance PG 1/1-B<1G', 'Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1-B >=400G', and 'Possession of Marijuana >=50 lbs' and was booked into the Smith County Jail.
Also in the home were two small children who are now in the custody of Texas Child Protective Services.
Thanks to the tips that came in from the postal service and Lindale Police, it appears as if this alleged operation has been put out of commission right now.
