Chris Colston has become a force in the Texas Music scene.

The festival has sold out in advance every year, with VIP tickets selling out in less than 30 minutes in 2017. Needless to say, don’t wait to get your tickets.

In the aftermath of SXSW, there are only a few things left standing in the path of the festivals dervish chaos. One of the survivors will be the Texas bluegrass band, The Whiskey Shivers. Fiddle, banjo, up right bass, and washboard rode the storm as Austinites and as champions of great new Texas music.

There is a lot of great Texas music out there. With every one great artist or band you find, there are five more waiting to be discovered. To help you in your search of great Texas music, here are three talented Austin, Texas-based musicians and bands you need to know about.

Pat Green takes a second break from writing his own songs to honor ten artists who’ve influenced him on ‘Songs We Wish We’d Written II.’ The lead single finds the Texas-born hitmaker taking a rock n’ roll approach to ‘All Just to Get to You’ by Joe Ely.

Memorial Day weekend activities continue today in Longview at the 6th Annual 'Party In The Pines' at the Longview fairgrounds. I get to meet a lot of musicians doing this job that I am so privileged to do. Kyle Park's Fall 2010 EP came out in ummm Fall 2010. And his latest single 'All Night' is making it's way up the Texas Music Chart and Texas Regional Radio Report, as of January 21st it was 12 on both charts.
