(KNUE-FM) I think we can all agree that thieves are the worst, but unfortunately, they are everywhere including here in Texas.

And while law enforcement tries to catch every thief in the Lone Star State that would be next to impossible.

Which is why we all have to do our part to look out for our own items, and ensure we do everything possible to not become a victim to one of these thieves.

Law Enforcement Caught Thieves Recently

Recently there was a tailgate theft near the Houston area.

The victims saw what they believed to be their tailgate for sale on social media and alerted police.

Tailgates Bring in Big Money

Thieves can steal a tailgate and sell it for as much as $10,000.

Which is why law enforcement is suggesting that pickup owners look into tailgate locks.

These devices are known to slow down thieves and potentially deter theft.

Other suggestions include always locking your vehicle and tailgate, using OBD port covers or locks, installing a steering wheel lock or aftermarket alarm system.

Lastly, you might want to store your key fob in a Faraday bag at home to make sure your signal cannot be cloned by thieves trying to make you their next victim.
