When you hear about instances like this you just appreciate Texas law enforcement officers so much more and understand why they do so much training.

According to KLTV, there was a traffic stop that took place in Gregg County, Texas leading to the arrest of a man from Georgia who was accused of sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl.

The Incident Began with a Speeding Violation

A trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was looking for speeders on I-20 east of Highway 31 at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 9th when he pulled over a white SUV with Illinois plates.

The driver was identified as 48-year-old Tremaine Jamar White of College Park, Georgia.

The trooper reported that the passenger was much younger, just 17, and was “swaying back and forth in the seat and looked nervous.”

Both Were Detained and Taken to a DPS Office

It’s not normal for a speeding violation to end up taking two people in for questioning but something seemed off according to the trooper.

After an interview with police the girl said she met White through Facebook about six months earlier.

He had traveled to see her while she was living at her mom’s house in Lubbock. When he arrived, he would have her stay in a hotel and asked her for nude images.

Texas DPS found 10 nude images of the girl on his phone.

Missing Person Report Filed for the Girl

DPS found that the girl’s mother had filed a missing person report on February 8th. DPS is reporting that “White knowingly trafficked the girl, who is a child younger than 18 years of age.”

Tremaine White was booked into the Gregg County Jail facing charges of trafficking a child, facilitating aggravated kidnapping and possession of child pornography. $250,000 for each charge, so his bond is currently set at $750,000.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
