(Austin, TX) There are lots of bars and pubs all over Texas, but for the first time ever there is a women’s sports bar that is open and gaining in popularity.

According to My San Antonio, the first ever women’s sports bar in Texas is called 1972: ATX Women’s Sports Pub.
As you probably noticed in the title it gives away it’s location in Austin, Texas.
The grand opening took place last Wednesday, March 19th and owners Debra Hallum and Marlene du Plessis are excited to open this new concept having taken the idea from other cities.

In the past few years, you’ve seen women’s sports growing in popularity, especially basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
The owners want to capitalize on the excitement around women’s sports.

A few things to remember if you’re planning on visiting 1972: ATX Women’s Sports Pub.
First, the parking area is small, just be patient, and remember if you go after 6:00 p.m. the public street parking is free.
They offer a full bar menu with food too. Be sure to bring your appetite.
