Tim Tebow, Heisman trophy winner while at Florida, NFL quarterback and, now, aspiring professional baseball player with the New York Mets, will be in Tyler Thursday, February 2, to speak at Grace Community School's "Celebrating Faith and Discovering Your Identity" fundraiser at Green Acres Baptist Church’s Crosswalk Conference Center.

"Grace Community School has a strong desire to be a place of hope for our community," Grace Community Headmaster Jay Ferguson told the Tyler Morning Telegraph. "It goes without saying that life isn't easy, and whether you're 17 or 71, having a strong sense of identity, who you are, is often the only thing that carries you through life's victories and turmoil. In his young life, Tim Tebow has seen more of both than many, and he brings a message of hope and healing that will winsomely and attractively inspire our community."

The fundraiser is for the Grace Fund which provides financial aid to students.

Tebow is known for his strong faith which he is not afraid to display publicly. For example, during Arizona fall league play last year, a fan had a seizure in the stands. Tebow took time to check on the gentleman and said a prayer with the man.

Tickets are $50 for general admission, reserved seating for $85 and student tickets are $35. You can get more details at gracetyler.org.
