Steak in Texas should almost be its own food group. It’s loved by just about everyone and can be ordered at all hours of the day. I’m sure you’re heard over the past few years about wagyu steak as its popularity continues to rise. But there are some people that are paying top dollar for their wagyu steak then ruining it by making a big mistake.
What is Wagyu Beef?
Wagyu is the collective name for the four principal Japanese breeds of beef cattle. All wagyu cattle originated in the early twentieth-century crossbreeding between Japanese cattle and imported stock, mostly from Europe. It’s highly sought after, and people are willing to pay huge dollars for the higher grades of wagyu beef.
So, after spending all this money on a delicious piece of meat, the last thing you want to do is ruin it. Some cuts can be as expensive as $200 per pound. But some people continue to make the same mistake when preparing high-quality meat.
How Are People Ruining Wagyu Steaks?
Wagyu beef has a higher fat content than other steaks which means it will cook faster. So many people are overcooking their wagyu steak.

How to Prepare Wagyu Steak
An executive Chef, Pierre Albaladejo shared on Food Republic that when preparing a wagyu steak, you should heat the pan to extremely hot, hit it with some oil, and lay the steak down.
