Boy Scout Micah Katz has taken it upon himself to make it easier to get around an area of Oakwood Cemetery in Tyler according to KLTV.

The area belongs to the Beth El congregation and was in need a new walkway. There were only two access points to the area, one off of a busy street. The other path lead over the graves of children.

The area was the first Jewish cemetery in Smith county dating back to the 1800's.

Katz took on this project to become an Eagle Scout.

"It's pretty good seeing all this happen and getting to give leadership. It's filling the need in the community and it also helps me with my future,” Katz said.
