East Texas Man Gets Probation in Online Solicitation Case
While we all know that criminals are held responsible for their actions in Texas, many believe one man’s sentence was too easy for the crimes he committed in East Texas, as he only received probation for soliciting a child online after falling for a YouTube sting operation.
Details of the East Texas Solicitation Case
According to CBS 19, 28-year-old Jordan Lee Burk has been sentenced to four years' probation for online solicitation of a minor after he entered a guilty plea.
Burk is a resident of Palestine and was arrested in 2024 after an investigation by a group known as “Predator Poacher.” It shows a member of the online group approaching Burk at his place of employment at the time which appears to be BioLife Plasma Services on South Broadway in Tyler.

How the Investigation Unfolded
During the conversation with “Predator Poacher,” Burk admits that he frequently viewed child pornography, although he denied saying anything sexual in nature in his messages.
The owner of the YouTube channel said the group had been in contact with Burk since June 2023. One of the team members even spoke with Burk and pretended to be an 11-year-old girl. Evidence showed that Burk sent inappropriate messages to the person he believed to be a child.

Sentencing and Legal Outcome
In addition to the four years’ probation, Burk was also sentenced to complete 400 hours of community service.
