East Texas towns have plenty of personality, traditions, and local landmarks that would make unforgettable Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade floats. From Tyler and Longview to smaller communities across the region, we're imagining what each town might look like rolling down the parade route. Which East Texas hometown deserves the most impressive float?

One Thanksgiving tradition I've had since I was a kid, and one I know plenty of Texans share, is watching parts of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was something my mom did every year, and eventually, it just became part of the holiday for me, too.

What Would a Tyler Thanksgiving Parade Float Look Like?

I always loved seeing the musical performances, marching bands, dance teams, giant inflatables, and elaborate floats. And that got me thinking: If East Texas towns were floats in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, what would they look like?

It's fun to enjoy all the local Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations here in East Texas, but there's something on another level about the floats in the Macy’s parade. They're massive, incredibly detailed, and take plenty of time, creativity, and money to bring to life. Every little detail matters.

We're also not too far from another big holiday parade if you'd like to get out and enjoy one. The Dallas Holiday Parade is happening Saturday, December 5, and it could make for a fun holiday outing, especially if the weather cooperates.
