Listen up girls - did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women? Yep cardiovascular disease claims nearly 500,000 American women every year.  That means that heart disease kills more women each year than all forms of cancer! That's why in 2004, the American Heart Association faced a challenge. It seemed that women weren't paying attention and heeding the call. That's when the AHA created Go Red for Women. Go Red For Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health. February is Go Red for Women month and KNUE wants all women to educate themselves and their loved ones on heart disease.

I have a family history of heart disease, both men and women, and I've felt the loss of loved ones who've been taken  by this awful disease. Educate yourself on the warning signs and prevention measures you can take to fight against heart disease. Even small steps can help. So wear Red this month everybody and share what you have learned about this disease. Who knows, you just might help save someones life, maybe even your own.

This is great video that actress Elizabeth Banks directed and starred in. Share it with the women in your life!
