Two people have been arrested after the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on Friday, August 8, at a residence located on County Road 520, just outside of Woden.

Due to ongoing complaints from area residents, law enforcement had an operation targeting methamphetamine dealers. During the operation, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office conducted undercover purchases of methamphetamine from the targeted individual, Billy Husband.

The Sheriff’s office obtained a search warrant on the residence where the undercover purchases occurred. Shortly after 5 am on August 8, deputies with the Nacogdoches Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant.

Three adults and one child were found sleeping inside a Recreational Vehicle on the property. After a search of the RV, a small amount of methamphetamine was discovered inside the RV, located near a child. Another small amount of methamphetamine was found in the possession of Rachel Michelle Rita.

A further search of the property revealed the discovery of 18 grams of methamphetamine, two sets of digital scales, and small baggies that are commonly used for the distribution of drugs. A total of 20 grams of methamphetamine was confiscated, along with numerous weapons.

Billy Husband, 58, from Nacogdoches, and Rachel Michelle Rita, 35, from Etoile, were both arrested at the scene.

Husband was initially charged on Friday with two counts of the Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a 1st degree felony.

After further review of the case, more warrants were obtained for Husband on Monday morning, and he was additionally charged with Endangering a child, a State jail felony, and two more counts of Manufacturing or Delivery of a controlled substance, a 1st degree felony.

Rita was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony, and she remains in the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Husband had a combined bond on all charges of $350,000.00, and has since posted bond.
