It's so hot in Texas... no, this is not the start of a joke, it really is super hot in Texas! Texas has been under an excessive heat warning, and in El Paso, we have hit over 30 days of triple digit heat, the first time since 1994!

Texas has basically become that level of Super Mario 3 where the sun tries to kill you!

Because Texas has basically become a literal oven, some have taken that as a challenge to see if we really can actually bake things outside. This woman in Houston recently went viral for allegedly baking bread in her mailbox! Although that story was just a bit exaggerated, the Texas heat is no joke!

Although the bread in the mailbox story is fairly new, one challenge that I see about every year is when people bake cookies inside their car- because it's too hot to turn the oven on inside your house!

I myself have never attempted to make cookies in the hot car, but I've always wondered, if you could bake cookies in the car, how long will it take? Well, I found out the answer!

TikTok user, and Texas resident Emily Korenek, decided to document her car baking journey.

Korenek then gave an update to let us know exactly how long it took to make those cookies in the car.

Apparently it takes six hours to fully cook these bad boys! For those who were concerned that the cookies weren't fully cooked, Korenek says that they were indeed cooked so salmonella was of no concern; although I know some people who will totally eat raw cookie dough!

So, if you've ever wanted to hop on this trend, all you need is Texas heat, the inside of a car and cookie dough and six hours to spare!
