Former Marshall ISD Aide Arrested After Child Injury Allegation
A former educational aide in East Texas was arrested for allegedly swinging a student upside down. She has also been terminated from her job with the district.
According to KETK, the Marshall ISD Police Department was made aware of an incident that took place on May 14 involving a former educational aide Rachel Kirspel and a student at the Marshall Early Childhood Center.
What Allegedly Happened at Marshall Early Childhood Center
According to law enforcement documents, Kirspel hung a 5-year-old student upside down by her feet and “had her swing side to side then up and down”, which resulted in the child hitting her head.
Kirspel told investigators that she was trying to help get the kids on their mats for nap time but one student instead was “playing around.” Kirspel tried putting the student over her shoulder and after that didn’t work, she hung her upside down.
The student also reported that Kirspel called her ‘ugly.’
