(KNUE-FM) Here in Texas we know that whenever you’re driving you better pay attention. There are lots of drivers who are speeding and not using turn signals and let's not forget about all the people who love to run a red light.

And while we know that there are dangerous drivers on the road, there are also lots of law enforcement officers who are trying to monitor drivers and will often give citations for those who are caught not following the rules of the road.

When Is Operation Slowdown Happening?

Throughout the year law enforcement in Texas will have special operations they work on specifically and from July 18th through August 3rd, TxDot is implementing “Operation Slowdown”.

According to KXAN, this means they will be in “high visibility speed limit enforcement”. This means officers will write tickets and spend extra time keeping an eye on drivers and reminding drivers to slow down on Texas roads.
