Texas Governor Greg Abbott has a difficult job, but he seems to have a priority in 2025 and that would include banning diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives in schools Kindergarten through 12th grade in all public schools.

Our governor wants zero taxpayer dollars spent on DEI; in fact the same ban was already put in place for all Texas public universities back in 2023.

What Does the DEI Ban Mean at Public Universities in Texas?

According to The Texas Tribune, under the ban put in place in 2023, universities cannot create diversity offices, hire employees to carry out diversity-related initiatives or require DEI training as a condition for employment or admission.

Universities across Texas have since moved to eliminate DEI efforts.

Everyone is Looking at Where Dollars are Being Spent

Governor Abbott is working to ban DEI and would spend money in other ways which is expected to be a hot topic of debate during the 2025 legislative session.

What Would You Do as the Governor of Texas?

We all know that there is only a limited amount of money and resources, but many people believe that Governor Abbott is wrong and should rethink his opinions regarding DEI in public schools in Texas for kids K-12.

What do you think? Should schools continue to work on funding diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives or would that money be better spent elsewhere? We would love to hear your opinion and thoughts in our comment section.
