Beginning tomorrow, Jan. 12, the Tyler Public Library will host six classes that will teach students how to use a sewing machine.

The beginners sewing class will be held on the third floor of the Library from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend and are asked to bring their own machine and a few sewing materials for each class.

• Feb. 9
• Feb. 23
• March 9
• March 23

“We are very excited to offer this new programing,” said Reference Librarian Connie Greer. “But in order to continue this programming through the summer, we will need donations of working sewing machines for this class to be available to all in the upcoming summer.”

In addition, fabric and thread is also a welcomed donation.
