Undercover NYC Sting Nets Guns in Arizona
Prompted by last month's Tucson tragedy in which six people were killed and 13 injured, New York City sent undercover agents to a Phoenix gun show to demonstrate how easy it is to purchase weapons in Arizona.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg showed reporters yesterday undercover videotape of gun sales from last week, noting it was as easy for his officers to purchase the guns as it is to buy fast food.
News of the New York City sting operation didn't sit well with The Crossroads of the West Gun Show, which issued a statement calling the investigation "entrapment." They added in a statement, "Mayor Bloomberg and his 'task force' have no legal authority in the state of Arizona or in any other place in America except New York City. These forays into America's heartland committing blatant acts to entrap otherwise innocent gun owners is an unlawful scheme that is created by Bloomberg's task force."
