Who Is Winning The Police Lip Sync Battle In East Texas?
What started with the Bexar County Police Department a few weeks ago has turned into an all out friendly (and impressive) battle among police departments all over the country, and some East Texas departments accepted the challenge. But who is winning?
From Henderson, to Palestine, to Tyler, our men and women in blue are showing up and showing out for this internet craze. Here are a few I found:
Up first is the Henderson County Sheriff's office, racking up over 1.7 million views with their rendition of "Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle posted on July 6.
Tenaha Police Department comes in a close second second showing off their acting and singing chops with my all-time favorite song from the movie "Smokey and the Bandit." They've accrued 1.6 million views and the video has been shared over 31,000 times since the video debut on July 3!
Wait, what's this? A shout out to the Tyler Police Department grooving to "Can't Stop The Feeling" by Justin Timberlake...yep, it's that one from the Trolls movie...and it is fabulous! In just one day (it was posted to Facebook July 9), they've already racked up over 600,000 views!
Watch out for Gun Barrel City and their collaboration with Stoney LaRue on "Oklahoma Breakdown." While officers are jammin', LaRue decides to take a police cruiser for a joy ride. Hey Stoney, have you returned that cruiser yet? Haha! This video is on fire with over 470,000 views since it's debut on July 8.
How about this duet from Mabank Police Department officers Doss and Jordan singing an oldie but a goodie..."The Lion Sleeps Tonight" by the Tokens. They posted this on July 4, and so far it has 83,000 views and counting.
Next up is the Palestine Police Department. How cool is this? The community got involved in this one, even McGruff! Police Chief Andy Harvey leads the way singing "Footloose," and proving that dancing is allowed in the town. So far, the video has over 82,000 views!
Here's is one that's a bit lighter in style, but still fun to watch. Officer Randolph with the Henderson Police Department is all about her 'power ring' with the "Cupcake Song." It's a favorite with 12,000 views!
I don't know about you, but I've loved every one so far and just can't stop watching! In my book, they are ALL winners. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe, and thanks for showing us the lighter side of your personalities!
