Wow! Photos of the Winona, TX Elementary School After the Fire
As I was scrolling through social media just a few days ago I saw a collection of photos that grabbed my attention and they were taking in Winona, TX. The photos were in a Facebook group called Abandoned East Texas and the group was created in 2017 to post pictures and background information of abandoned place around our area. It didn’t take long for the photos to start getting lots of attention online so I reached out to the woman who posted them (Diana Dawson Hall) and she said that I could share them with you.
The Winona Elementary School seen below in the photos used to be used for class but unfortunately in 2014 there was a wildfire that ripped through the school and the building hasn’t been used since that time. According to Diana, the building was and still is owned by Brother’s Manufacturing.
What School is Being Used for Elementary School in Winona, TX Currently?
After the fire destroyed this elementary school students had to move to a building that was originally built around 1980 or 1981. But there are some people in Winona who want to put money back into this building and there is still a bond issue up for vote that could provide $13 million dollars in upgrades to this building.
Please, Don’t Go Explore the Winona Elementary School
While many people online loved the look of this building even with the fire damage and want to take photos there, please don’t put yourself in danger by going onto the property.
