(KNUE-FM) Most Texans already know that living in the Lone Star State is fantastic.

There is a lot to do and see if you like to go on adventures, and friendly people make our home state even better.

But recently there were some new rankings released regarding the best places in America to retire and it’s not shocking to hear that Texas has two cities that made the list.

Who Came Up with The List of Best Places to Retire?

It was Forbes who created the list of best places to retire, and while it’s great to see two cities in Texas on the list, the two locations are very different from each other.

One of the cities is big and the other is a fun college town.

What Texas Locations Were Named as the Best Places to Retire?

The two locations that were mentioned are San Antonio and College Station.

And while it’s a little cheaper to live in San Antonio then College Station both offer a comfortable place to call home.

How Were the Rankings Decided?

Forbes looked at many factors including housing costs, taxes, healthcare, air quality, crime, climate change, and natural hazard risk.

San Antonio has a population around 1.5 million with a median home price around $252,000.

College Station has around 128,000 people but the median home price is $347,000.

Both locations are under the national median for home prices.
