The Nintendo Entertainment System was my first video game system. I remember getting one in the late 80's for Christmas and me and my sister were super excited. All those hours playing Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, Contra, Tecmo Superbowl and more were a blast. Still am thanks to some retro systems.

I did skip a couple of generations before I came back to Nintendo with their Wii system. I had a blast with the motion control games and Guitar Hero. There was the Wii Shop, too, where I could get Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and Neo Geo games which was awesome.

I haven't picked up a Nintendo Switch since it's release a couple of years ago. But have been keeping track with what's available for it and may get one in the future. We'll see.

Well, the guy who has lead Nintendo through some of it's most successful years will retire April 15 according to kotaku.com. His name is Reggie Fils-Aime and he has been the man behind Nintendo of America for the last 15 years. He was there for the Gamecube, DS, 3DS, Wii, the only flop the Wii U and the Switch.

He loved the stage, was very charismatic and loved video games, especially Nintendo. To take his place is a gentleman who has been with Nintendo for four years in marketing and sales for the company. His name is Doug Bowser. Yes, like the fire breathing beast that Mario and Luigi have battled so many times to save Princess Peach from.

Bowser will take over as Nintendo of America president. It's still not entirely clear how or if the company will change with Bowser in charge. Nintendo fans will just have to see. Bowser takes over April 15.

Game on players.
