The East Texas Food Bank in Tyler will hopefully be home to the Guinness Book of World Records "Largest Can Pyramid". Believe it or not, there is a previous record where 31,001 cans were used to build a pyramid in 2015.

36,000 cans will be used by volunteers stating Wednesday afternoon (February 22) at 3 P.M. The pyramid will hopefully be successfully completed Friday. You can actually watch the live feed of the construction starting on Wednesday, February 22 at 3 p.m.

If all goes well, the pyramid of cans will be twelve feet tall with a 17-by-17 foot base.

No matter the outcome, all the canned food will be donated to the food bank to help those in need. The project is aimed to help raise awareness about hunger in East Texas. 1-in-4 children in East Texas do not know where their next meal is coming from.

To get an idea, this was the record in 2013 with 25,000 cans that were donated to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims. The one Brookshire's and East Texas Food Bank in Tyler is working on is expected to have 36,000 cans.
